Another "Stand your ground" case close to my house, with a twist

Note: It is hard to feel sorry for this father who lost his son to a senseless shooting. The shooter and the victim are white. The shooter is claiming self defense after chasing the victim off his property, across the street and down another street.

The father is demanding action. He is a Tea Party Republican activist and supports "shooting on demand" laws, such as the one that killed his son. Well, his love for the gun got his son killed.

From KHOU TV in Houston from Memorial Day 2013:

A well-to-do doctor claims it was self-defense when he shot and killed 36-year-old Brandon Smith. Police said Smith crashed a crawfish boil at the doctor's house, got kicked out and went back later. Smith's dad says his son was walking his dog the second time. He said Smith had a brain injury and was gunned down in the street and not on anyone's property.

The shooter held the victim at gunpoint across his lawn, across the street, and down the adjoining street then shot him. The community has demanded an investigation and charges filed. The shooter was on the phone with 911 when he shot him. You can hear the shots and the shooter did nothing while the victim was lying in the street dying.

But, we live in a gun happy state so the shooter will probably get off. You got to ask the question "Why didnt he just stay in the house?"

I'd never allow a violent nutcase to be in charge of my medical care.

I did see where no tests were done on the doctor, even though he admitted he was drinking.

He is an eye doctor. House is about $500,000 and is on the water.
There is a 911 call recorded. It is awful.

You can hear the gunshots. And you can tell he gave no help to the victim.

He needs to go to jail but the victims father supports Stand Your Ground. He will probably walk.

I don't know what else would be inferred by "Flush everything, just get rid of it."

I damn sure wouldn't want someone as wasted as he sounds getting near me for any medical service.

I'm tired of people just killing others because they can. Really tired.
