Related: About this forumTed Cruz: The Tree, The Apple and a Lot of Questions
By Carol MorganHistory isnt merely a series of random events; its created by individuals. The key to understanding is the examination of the biographies of its key players. Knowing an individuals past is the best predictor of future behavior. The motivations, fears and passions of historical and political icons unlock the door to explain why they behave as they do.
If you dont believe that a leaders biography is important, then you should read Nassir Ghaemis book, A First Rate Madness. Dr. Ghaemi, a professor of psychiatry at Tufts, examines the link between historys leaders and mental illness. I highly recommend it.
I wish I had a dollar for each time Ive heard, Theres so much we dont know about Barack Obama. I feel the same way about Ted Cruz. Just for the record, I dont care about his birth certificate; Id rather study his biography.
What I do care about is that Ted Cruz was indoctrinated early. Look up Houstons Faith West Academy and Second Baptist High School and youll see the religious garbage he was fed when he was young and malleable. As a former-Baptist-in-recovery, I know how damaging those religious doctrines are. Worse yet, at age thirteen, he was turned over to an extreme political grooming factory run by a former Vaudevillian named Rolland Storey. Yes, the same badda-boom-badda-bing entertainment genre that conjures up plate spinners and bawdy jokes.
Fast forward to his college years and his college roommates have precious few fond memories of him. Abrasive, arrogant, and creepy were the adjectives used to describe him. Who knows you better than your college roommates? From an article in the Daily Beast, his former roommate Craig Mazin remarked, I would rather have anybody else be the president of the United States anyone I would rather pick somebody from the phone book."
That's pretty damning.
Check out the GQ article by Jason Zengerle and youll see nothing has changed. His arrogance and narcissism knows no bounds: the giant oil painting on the wall of his office showing four views of himself, the fact that he refused to study with students that were not Harvard graduates. He was highly disliked by those in the GWB circle because of his regular emails on his accomplishments. From that article, one recipient likened to the cards people send about their families at Christmas, except Teds were only about him and more frequent.
Theres a psychological condition called megalomania. Its a condition which causes thoughts of unlimited power and importance; feelings of personal omnipotence and grandeur. Ill leave you to make the connection.
Ted Cruz is a liar, plain and simple. Go to Politifact and youll see Ted Cruz lies more than he tells the truth. Read his statements over the past two years; only 4% are true; a whopping 68% are "mostly false", "false", or "pants on fire" and that doesn't count the 16% of which were labeled "half truths". Why don't the Cruz worshippers see this?
Ted Cruz says his father is his ultimate hero. The old saying, The apple doesnt fall far from the tree applies here. Considering Rafael Cruz and his tall tales, an oft-repeated dime-novel hero story topped off by the $100 bill sewn into his underwear. It fits perfectly with the carefully fashioned patriot image; stranger than fiction and more like the myth of Odysseus, Jason, or Perseus than a truthful biography.
Rafael Cruz, Sr. is a demagogue holy roller with the Purifying Fire ministry, founded by Suzanne Hinn. Yes, its that Hinn, as in Benny Hinn, the crook-liar-televangelist. Check out his cheesy late night performances; see him in his colorfully adorned costumes that are a humorous hybrid of Nehru and Star Trek. It's a carny atmosphere. Since 1983, hes scammed millions from faithful viewers who believe in his faith healing techniques. Think about it; these are Senor Cruz compadres.
In a sermon last year, Cruz' father claimed that his son was anointed as a king to take control of all the sectors of society, a part of the "Seven Mountains" mandate, that would "bring the spoils of war to the priests", to bring about a prophesied "great transfer of wealth", from the "wicked" to righteous gentile believers.
Oh, Senor Cruz, congratulations, youve learned well from your mentor, Benny Hinn.
You know Pastor Cruz life raises a lot of questions. If he couldnt speak English how did he get into UT? He came illegally to America as a political refugee and magically received a student visa and then obtained a green card by marrying Eleanor Darragh. It sounds a lot like the sham marriages for green cards and cash that go on today. He talks about how much he loves America, yet he didnt become an American citizen until 2005, forty-eight years after he left Cuba. And poor Eleanor Darragh. She remains conspicuously absent from this mythical hoopla; not a media quote or a digital image anywhere. Id be embarrassed too, madam.
Ted Cruz and his delusional father share a common trait; its called hucksterism: Using aggressive, showy, and devious methods to promote or sell a product. Hucksters, especially the religious ones, employ their theatrical skills to scam money, obtain power, and obtain the unflinching adoration from the non-thinking and naïve.
Just a reminder to Senator Cruz: Political extremists have short careers that end badly.
If you dont believe it, look back at the controversial careers of Father Coughlin, Gerald L.K. Smith, Ralph Easley, Merwin Hart, Gerald Winrod, Joseph McCarthy, or George Wallace.
Youre headed in that direction, buddy.

(4,695 posts)1. Keep in mind that the elder Cruz Family went to Canada to seek social medicine and the senator is
a Canadian Anchor Baby. Castro = Socialism. Cruz = Authoritarianism. The Cruz Family is not here to promote democracy; they do not fit in with Texans or Americans, in my opinion. They are here to take us to the cleaners!
