Conversation with checker at Kroger yesterday

I caught the end of a conversation the checker was continuing with the person in front of me.

It was obviously about the weather getting cooler.

I just heard the checker saying that Texans don't know what "cold" is. The checker had recently moved to Texas from Montana.

I told her that "cold" was the way Rick Perry treated the poor in Texas.

She didn't get it.

I probably would have only thought of the opposite in weather, such as "And I was married to an Ontario-Canadian for almost eight years. She didn't know what "hot" was until she moved down here and experienced both the August heat, as well as the evacuation scare of Hurricane Rita. She never acclimated to either type of weather."
