Can somebody organize Texas Musicians?

I've asked many and they all seem like they are for it but don't know how to do it. "Loosely organized" is the term most frequently used. Someone in Texas needs to get them all together in support of Wendy Davis and other democratic candidates and measures. Form a Texas Musicians for Wendy.org PAC and then have the musicians table at their shows etc and donate and do benefits etc.

Seems like they could raise one hell of a lot of money, do at least one HUGE benefit and a bunch of smaller ones.

The one way Texas turns blue is through the music and the musicians. And they need to organize and organize right now. I know a number of female musicians have talked about leaving due to the State's policies on many things. I know they are pissed, especially the women.

Now someone needs to unite them, someone with political skillz who can really do the job and get them organized.

Good Idea! They would have to do it as a group in order to not be boycotted in this state & others. northoftheborder Jan 2014 #4

The four men that are in the Bright Light Social Hour played at the rally at the Capitol in support of Wendy Davis and the Democrats this past summer. I know two of the men in the band since they are graduates of my alma mater and they are intelligent and conscientious; however, most musicians that I met are not active politically.

While I could see a group of musicians organizing a political benefit, there are so many obstacles to overcome (venue, permits, insurance, marketing) that it may not be feasible. However, if they can pull it off then I'm all for it.

Might still be anyway. There are so many great Texas musiclans, beginning with Willie. He's beyond being boycotted...a legend in his own time!
