Wendy Davis says she raised $300,000 more than Greg Abbott in last month

Democrat Wendy Davis reported that she outstripped Republican Greg Abbott in fundraising, bringing in $2.85 million over a 29-day period. His totals were reported here.

Davis has $11.3 million tucked away looking ahead to the general election. Her overall bank account still lags well behind Abbott’s $30 million.

The Republican attorney general has seen his campaign boosted in the past seven months by about two dozen benefactors capable of writing him large checks totaling more than $100,000.

For Davis, her totals arise from combining three political accounts controlled by her campaign. Those most recent totals include:

Wendy R. Davis for Governor, Inc.: $1.6 million
Wendy R. Davis Candidate/Officeholder: $2,035
Texas Victory Committee, Inc.: $1.2 million

1. Athought Abbot has more,

Wendy has plenty of time to raise another 18 million before the election. She can do it. Abbot only has 30 million and has been a candidate much longer then Wendy. She is going to be fine. Abbot and Wendy will each have 30 million by the time this race gets in full swing.

The Davis campaign has a broader campaign votes that make more modest contributions than Abbott's base. That translates to more voters.

I must admit that the political picture is much more humorous since I've installed Stop Tony Meow on my computer and I don't have to look at Abbott in most of his photo ops.
