Starr County Sheriff's Office: Girl stabbed 20 times by father
RIO GRANDE CITY — A father stabbed his 11-year-old daughter 20 times in her legs and chest before stabbing himself twice in the neck Tuesday morning, according to the Starr County Sheriff’s Office.
Starr County Sheriff’s deputies responded to to the Las Lomas colonia at about 7 a.m. Tuesday in reference to the stabbing, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
Both the girl and her father were transported to a local hospital and are expected to make a full recovery. The sheriff’s office is currently investigating the case, according to the news release.
