Rick Perry blasts Obama over terrorist threats, border

Gov. Rick Perry slammed President Barack Obama on Friday, saying he failed to show decisive leadership on issues like the border crisis and terrorist threats abroad and accusing the president of recklessly overreaching his authority on other issues.

Speaking at Americans for Prosperity’s Defending the American Dream Summit at the Omni Dallas Hotel downtown, Perry stopped short of addressing his own presidential plans and did not mention his recent indictment.

“American leadership is needed now more than ever,” Perry told the crowd. “Presidential leadership is needed now more than ever.”

Perry, who is considering another run for the GOP nomination for president, said the Supreme Court has scolded the president 20 times for overreaching the powers of his executive office. But he questioned why Obama showed “willful neglect” on other issues.

Texas very well. And remember when you showed your leadership skills on the debate, you need to forget everything you "knew about leadership" and try something new, like returning to agriculture.
