Remember the cop that tazed the 76 year old man? He rescued a double amputee from a fire.

Former officer saves man from Beeville fire

Former Victoria police officer Nathanial Robinson is being recommended for a commendation after he and another officer pulled a double amputee from a burning home April 30, according to the Beeville Police Department.

Robinson, 23, and Field Training Officer Chris Haller arrived on the scene of an apartment home that had smoke billowing from it, said Detective Greg Baron of Beeville Police Department.

"They acted on a gut feeling," he said.

Both officers had been to that residence before and knew Hector Garza, who is disabled, lived there, he said.

Robinson grabbed the fire extinguisher from the patrol car and both officers searched the apartment for the man.

"There was zero visibility," Baron said.

They found the man still lying in bed near his oxygen tank while Robinson tried to contain the fire with the extinguisher.

That incident shows a lack of what I'll call "powers of consideration and self-control".

It's good to hear that his powers aren't 100% wrong.

They should not be able to go down the street and get another job in the field after being fired for abusing citizens.
