Sigma Chi Fraternity closes chapter at UH

HOUSTON - The Sigma Chi International Fraternity is apparently closing its chapter at the University of Houston.

According to a press release from the fraternity, the action follows concerns that members were "not living up to the values of the organization."

The university suspended five members of the fraternity back in March after allegations of hazing surfaced.

No details were given about the hazing allegations against the fraternity, but UH President Rena Khator called them "disturbing."

The fraternity apparently plans to return to the university after the summer of 2019.
