HOUSTON -- A Texas DPS bulletin reportedly warns that members of the Bandidos motorcycle gang may be plotting attacks on law enforcement officers in Houston and other Texas cities.
An informant said they plan to retaliate for Sunday's shootout at a Twin Peaks in Waco, which left nine bikers dead and 18 injured.
The bulletin was leaked to CNN.
Members of the gang who are in the military will supply grenades and explosives, CNN reported.
The Bandidos have used similar explosives in the past, specifically during what is known as the Great Nordic Biker War of the mid-1990s, said James Quinn, a University of North Texas professor who has studied outlaw motorcycle gangs. In those clashes, the Bandidos and rival gang Hell's Angels engaged in a three-year war in Sweden, Denmark and other Nordic countries that included clubhouse attacks, rocket launchers and car bombs.

(34,648 posts)I find the outlaw biker gangs to be very scary. They have weapons and know how to use them very well. And they get away with murder.

all the leeway and funding needed by the police to shut the bikers down. Not a smart move to put themselves higher in the public' consciousness by going after police. That is how laws get quickly changed. And the practice of justice zones in with one goal: put the big men bikers making the decision to attack police away at any cost and the public will be with the justice system. Police were able to turn at least one member, pay him $5 million and put him in the witness protection program. The public, which previously would not have been tolerant of such a deal, were like: go ahead! Really. The Bikers in Texas do not want to cause anxiety like they are trending...it just leads to ingeniousness and whatever means necessary by the police. And endless public support.

(44,576 posts)Why endanger the "informer" -- and why inform the Bandidos that they have an informer among them? Is this just a ploy to get the Bandidos to start suspecting and turning on each other?

(21,024 posts)The bikers have guys dead and guys in jail and probably have serious problems with homeland security. They have major liability issues for property damage and personal injuries. I'm not defending them at all. Just saying, they have their butts in a sling and their lawyers are explaining that to them now.. The last thing on their minds right now is war with the cops.
