Six Central Texas men sentenced in gang rape of 15-year-old girl from Waco
Six Waco men who pleaded guilty to participating in the April 2014 gang rape of a 15-year-old girl were each sentenced to lengthy prison terms Friday.
The Waco Tribune-Herald reported that Da'Juan Oshea Degrate, 19, Day'tron Derrell Smith, 19, Lamont Tray Davis, 20, Cory Darnell Hall, 20, and Devoric Javon Evans, 21, were each indicted in June 2014 on 13 counts of aggravated assault of a child, a first-degree felony, and two counts of sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony.
Douglas Demond Canada, 20, was indicted on 13 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and three counts of sexual assault of a child, the Tribune-Herald reported.
"Today the survivor of this heinous sexual assault can close this chapter in her life and begin to heal," Assistant District Attorney Gabrielle Massey told KWTX.
