Tea party aims for establishment GOP’s seats in Congress

Challengers to the Texas Republican establishment have scored impressive victories in the last few election cycles, knocking off several state senators and House members, including a few veteran North Texas lawmakers.

But as the insurgency takes hold in state government, the Republican congressional delegation has been largely untouched.

Most incumbents have easily beaten back challenges from the tea party and other segments of the grass-roots movement, even as their counterparts in state government have suffered humbling defeats.

Activists outside the GOP establishment, successful in smaller legislative districts, haven’t figured out how to operate in a larger, more expensive arena that heavily favors incumbents.

1. They're in for a disappointment

Democrats always do better in presidential election years, while Republicans fare better during midterms and off-cycle elections. If they were smart, they'd wait until 2018 or 2022.

A Tea Party insurgency in 2016 primaries increases the odds of the seats flipping from red to blue.

At least review all of out politicians in deep blue states and ensure they are as progressive as possible and go from there. Seems rational to but what do I know.

The Republican Party is demographically going over the cliff as each year passes. Who, politically, will take the place of and pick up the interest of, the 1%? Answer is, the third way (spelled with small letters). See Reply #4 in this thread about the third way organization. A progressive Democratic Party will be in the best interest of We the People, working class Americans.

Third Wayer, President Obama, had a Democratically controlled House and Senate when he took office in 2009. And being a third way New Democrat, he accomplishd premiums for the Healthcare business industry. (Third way: 1) Bronze Plans have very high deductibles. 2) There was no call from Republicans for Obama to take the Public Option off the table.) Sanders is not the third way. IMO, Sanders is the Progressive leader of the Democrats.
