Texas secession plank defeated at state GOP convention

http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/texas/article/Texas-secession-plank-defeated-at-state-GOP-7467954.php

DALLAS (AP) — Secessionists tried and failed to insert into the Texas Republican Party's official platform language supporting "independence from the United States" — but not without causing a stir on the floor of the state convention.

Thousands of delegates were hammering out the party's platform in Dallas on Friday when language was proposed backing secession.

That drew applause and Republican Party Chairman Tom Mechler was briefly booed when he cut off debate on a related matter...

Once again, it didn't happen.

The media and the GOP blow it way out of proportion.

They're the same 25% who supported Cheney at the end of Bush's second term. You can get 25% of the public to approve of just about anything.
