Johnny Manziel court hearing in Dallas postponed, to be rescheduled
DALLAS -- Johnny Manziel will have to wait to have the domestic violence charge against him dismissed, as was expected Thursday until the court session was canceled.
A bailiff had died and most court employees were attending the funeral Thursday, according to court officials, so Thursday mornings court hearing was postponed, and a new date was expected to be set later.
Officials reached a tentative agreement Nov. 17 to drop the charges, and the judge said there was an agreement in principle to drop them and gave the officials two weeks to finalize the details.
The former Cleveland Browns quarterback was accused by his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, 21, of Fort Worth, of repeatedly hitting her on Jan. 30 during a drive home from Hotel ZaZa in Dallas to her apartment in Fort Worth.
