ICE arrests 29 people in Laredo as part of 12-day enforcement action
Federal officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested 29 people in Laredo, as part of a 12-day enforcement action throughout South Texas.
The operation, which ended Friday and included cities like San Antonio, Austin and Waco, resulted in 153 people being arrested, according to a news release. All of the people arrested had prior criminal convictions.
Those arrested throughout South Texas include foreign nationals from five countries: Mexico (140), Honduras (7), Guatemala (3), Canada (2) and El Salvador (1).
One of the people arrested in Laredo, a 27-year-old woman from Mexico, had a prior conviction for injury to a child with bodily injury, according to the release. She was processed and removed to Mexico.
