2 exotic dancers sue Amarillo clubs for back wages
Two exotic dancers have filed class action lawsuits against a pair of Amarillo adult entertainment establishments, Cassidys Polo Club and Players Bikini Club, alleging they did not receive fair financial compensation.
Angela Parker and Jessica Collins, both of whom declined to comment for this story, claim Cassidys did not pay them wages, forced them to pay a house fee to dance and pulled money from their tips to pay for the adult entertainment venues operating costs. Collins filed a separate suit claiming Players Bikini Club did the same.
Attorney Jeremi Young, a partner at Amarillos Young & Newsom P.C., said Parker, Collins and other dancers are also entitled to tips taken from them for leaving work early or becoming intoxicated while performing.
Theyre forcing them to rely on tips alone, and whats even worse is that the dancers have to pay the club to work there, Young said. The bottom line is Cassidys is using money that belongs to the dancers to subsidize their operation, and thats what makes it illegal.
