Buses of Harvey evacuees arrive overnight at Dallas mega-shelter

Hundreds of evacuees from the Houston area arrived by bus and plane overnight in Dallas.

Some evacuees landed at Dallas Love Field on Thursday night, while others arrived in a dozen buses escorted to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center by Dallas County sheriff's deputies.

North Texas was prepared to handle up to 6,500 evacuees. Only 108 people spent Wednesday night at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, and city officials were scaling back staff to compensate.
