Ex-Baylor president: Some women 'willingly' make themselves victims of sexual assault

WACO, Texas (AP) — A court filing this week reveals that the former interim president of Baylor University referred to some women who said they had been sexually assaulted as willing victims, amid lingering allegations that the nation's largest Baptist school repeatedly mishandled or stifled claims of sexual and physical abuse.

The remark came in an email exchange last year between David Garland and a Baylor administrator. The email was obtained by lawyers for 10 women who are suing Baylor on claims the school ignored their allegations.

Garland also said in the email that he had heard a radio interview with an author who chronicled her alcoholism at college, the Waco Tribune-Herald reports. He wrote in the email that the interview "added another perspective for me of what is going on in the heads of some women who may seem willingly to make themselves victims."

He then cited verses in the New Testament referring to God's wrath on those who commit sexual sin.

that they can't sue without the university having their names waded through mud. Baylor reserves the rights to weigh considerations such as a) is the accused one of the star athletes, b) is the victim intoxicated or wearing clothing that makes them a target (iow, bullshit like this guy is spewing), c) is either the victim or the accused a member of a legacy family that makes generous contributions to the university on a regular basis, d) negative publicity to the university, or e) any combination of those considerations.

(yes, the independent counsel if the Clinton impeachment case) resigned as president. Garland is already 70 years old so he obviously felt that he didn't have to hold back anything in his conversations.

Ken Starr, of Lewinski scandal fame. Starr was forced to resign for failing to investigate harrassment and rape claims. It's even more shocking that a successor would repeat the same behavior.

He's certainly begging to get his house and property vandalized, and when it happens, it will be all his fault because he shouldn't carry money or credit cards, drive a decent car, or live in a nice house.

It's just never the criminal's fault, you know. The victims always beg to be victimized.

Asshole.
