Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress to give prayer at U.S. Embassy opening in Jerusalem

Dallas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress will give the opening prayer Monday at the controversial opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.

The pastor of First Baptist Dallas has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and said that he had "courage that no other U.S. president has" had to move the embassy from Tel Aviv.

"This is a historic moment because it represents the United States recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, something that the Bible and secular history have told us for 3,000 years," Jeffress said on Fox & Friends.

Trump has been criticized for announcing plans to relocate the embassy and for formally recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Palestinians and Israelis both claim Jerusalem as their capital, and U.S. presidents have historically declined to weigh in on the dispute over the city.

NO WAY would I want to be one of the people working there. They have to be worried about their safety.

And maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, but I cannot remember previous presidents making all kinds of unpopular and controversial decisions like this.

That affect not only Americans, but people all over the world. He worked with our allies and got their input besides having advisers he depended on rather than acting unilaterally. It appears to me that all these "orders" coming from Trump are unprecedented. Where are the checks and balances?
