Beto O'Rourke within 5 points of Ted Cruz in UT/Texas Tribune poll

Republican Ted Cruz leads Democrat Beto O'Rourke 41 percent to 36 percent.

Republican incumbent Greg Abbott holds a comfortable 12-percentage-point lead over Democratic challenger Lupe Valdez — the exact same advantage he held over Democrat Wendy Davis in an early-summer poll in 2014. Abbott went on to win that race by 20 percentage points.

Republican incumbent Dan Patrick leads Democrat Mike Collier in the contest for lieutenant governor, 37 percent to 31 percent.

Republican incumbent attorney general Ken Paxton has 32 percent to Democrat Justin Nelson’s 31 percent.

Beto is keeping within striking distance! Still a long shot, but one worth taking. We still have time to reach some undecideds for all the races!

I just don't get it. The guy's a complete moron and a coward. He's not even from Texas.

thats a huge number for an existing senator seeking re-election. 36pts is not "within striking distance", btw

The percentage of unsure voters usually peaks in the summer because people haven’t really focused in on elections yet. They’re still doing summer things.

I would be busting my ass registering Hispanic voters, any PoC voters really.

And pushing GOTV.

Texas is winnable, if Democrats turn out and vote.

When they realize he's helping trump and the gop destroy all health care, and Medicaid , Medicare, and SOCIAL SECURITY now. Many see what they're saying and doing are very different things , like their tax scam giving trillions to the wealthy , and destroying all programs for the middle class and poor to pay for it for them. The wealthy bribed them with huge campaign donations and they even openly claimed they better get them their tax cuts or they wouldn't back them again. Cruz is just another trump tool and serial liar at large in Texas. I think the people are waking up about what a fraud cruz is now. Beto needs to remind the people of texas cruz will enable trump to hurt us a lot more , and help protect him while he destroys more of this country for himself. cruz is corrupt like trump too. Can't be trusted, now or ever.
