Assistant principal won't return to Denton High School after accusation of using racial slur

A Denton High School assistant principal accused of using a racial slur in conversation with a student won't return to his job, officials say.

Howard Palmer was placed on leave April 27, a day after Njoku Prince posted video on Facebook of a meeting he and his daughter, senior LaTasia Woodard, had with the administrator.

After an investigation that concluded Tuesday, Palmer "will not return to the district," according to an email Denton ISD sent to parents.

Video of the meeting shows Woodard telling her father that Palmer, who is white, had told a student to turn off his "[N-word] music" and later repeated the term to Woodard after her classmate told her and she confronted the assistant principal.
