Got a flyer from a Dem candidate named Heidi Sloan fro 25th District.

Anyone know anything about her? Her ideas sound fine until she starts calling herself a Dem Socialist. Not sure that will fly here in Central Texas.

1. I'm familiar with that district.

Her Democratic opponent this year (Julie Oliver) finished in second place in the primary when she competed against a friend of mine from college who won the primary. Oliver defeated my friend in the 2018 Democratic runoff.

I doubt Sloan will do well in that particular district.

I'm certainly willing to listen to all of the candidates--even Republicans, although I have no intention of voting for one. I never checked how the district lines were gerrymandered in Austin, but I may have been in the district at my last residence in Austin back in 1999.

I lived within ten miles of I-35 in several cities from San Antonio in the south to Dallas at the north end for about thirty years of my life. It's hard to break those connections.
