Related: About this forumGot a flyer from a Dem candidate named Heidi Sloan fro 25th District.
Anyone know anything about her? Her ideas sound fine until she starts calling herself a Dem Socialist. Not sure that will fly here in Central Texas.

(126,245 posts)Her Democratic opponent this year (Julie Oliver) finished in second place in the primary when she competed against a friend of mine from college who won the primary. Oliver defeated my friend in the 2018 Democratic runoff.
I doubt Sloan will do well in that particular district.

(126,245 posts)I'm certainly willing to listen to all of the candidates--even Republicans, although I have no intention of voting for one. I never checked how the district lines were gerrymandered in Austin, but I may have been in the district at my last residence in Austin back in 1999.
I lived within ten miles of I-35 in several cities from San Antonio in the south to Dallas at the north end for about thirty years of my life. It's hard to break those connections.
