A University of Texas law professor is suing the college after she says the law school intentionally paid her less because shes a woman and in retaliation for previous complaints she made about a wage gap between male and female faculty.
Linda Mullenix, who has taught law at UT since 1991, filed the suit in federal court Thursday. In her suit, Mullenix says she has been paid substantially less than her male counterparts for several years, despite having taught longer and having more accolades and publications.
The lawsuit alleges the lack of compensation is retaliation for Mullenix opposing the law schools unequal pay practices. In addition to a lower salary, Mullenix alleges she has been denied seats on prestigious committees in the law school.
Most disturbingly, because of Professor Mullenixs opposition to UT Laws unequal pay practices, she has been made a pariah by the administration. New professors are told to stay away from her and that she is poison, the lawsuit said.

(12,533 posts)Corporations and the filthy rich have been making money and profits off of underpaying women for centuries. Their labor can be had for so much less.
That's why the filthy rich promote racism, sexism, antisemitism and mysogamy. Because they can abuse those who are considered inferior and make a profit off them. That's why the Victorians had an army of children working in their factories.
