Several University of Dallas students in 'semi-quarantine' in Italy as coronavirus precaution

IRVING -- Several University of Dallas students studying in Rome have been placed in a “semi-quarantine” as a precaution against the coronavirus, one of their fellow students said Wednesday.

The semi-quarantine requires wearing masks on campus, eating meals outdoors and sleeping away from other students, said Natalie Villafranca, a junior studying biology.

“Everything is a little stressful,” she said.

At least 10 Italian towns have been locked down because nearly 450 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the country, most of them near Milan, where the quarantined students recently traveled.
