Beto O'Rourke tweets out profanity-laden takedown of Trump's virus mismanagement

Last night, DonaldTrump sent shockwaves around the world by suddenly tweeting out that he would be temporarily suspending all immigration into the United States. Like everything else this president does, it was hastily decided and poorly explained. Like everything he does recently, it’s a transparent attempt to distract from his total botching of the federal government’s COVID-19 response.

Former Congressman and Democratic ex-presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke responded to Trump’s tweet by absolutely eviscerating him in an extended Twitter thread, exposing Trump for his pathetic, transparent attempt to pull attention away from what O’Rourke deemed his “total mismanagement” of this crisis.

Citing the cold hard facts, O’Rourke pointed out that by some estimates 43,000 Americans have died from this virus, far more than the next closest country’s mortality count. More damningly as it pertains to the White House, O’Rourke also pointed out that just over 1% of Americans have been tested for COVID-19.

“We should take it seriously,” he added, sending a much-needed message to the president who originally dismissed the virus as a Democratic hoax.
