According to traffic reports the road in front of the Capitol is blocked off for demonstrations. Local news this morning said the organizers called off the protest due to safety concerns. If I see anything online or otherwise here in Austin, I’ll report back.
Gotta explain where I’ve been lately, as I’ve been quiet on DU for some weeks trying to get my head straight about what’s needed - what to say, do, think when it just feels that week after week, complaint after reasonable complaint about the failings of that one man whom lives solely to demoralize as many people as possible - nothing changes.
I’ve been tied up in knots this week - have been in rough shape due to a medication flub (I’m getting better - just learned I don’t do well with a mild dosage increase). Two at risk for COVID complications rely on me for their supplies and logistics. Kept and torn from people on the streets angry and fed up with senseless cruelty and stupid racist authority. Floyd should still be alive and I should have been out there peacefully saying so.
Saddened, overwhelmed, angry and sick over what it’s gonna take to stare down the oppressors and take our country back all the while knowing that the excess destruction I watched from afar could play into their hands. I’m angry at the profound injustice that just keeps happening. I wanted to be out there documenting what was happening - want to be there lending my eyes, ears, voice, and water. I wish I knew what was happening right now, but I just don’t know.
