Travis County: Rising coronavirus hospitalizations trigger Stage 4 recommendations

Travis County officials on Sunday reported 84 new coronavirus cases, bringing the number of people who are known to have contracted the disease to 4,545.

No new deaths have been reported over the weekend. The total number of deaths in Travis County in connection to the virus is 104.

Thirty people were admitted to the hospital Sunday in the Austin area, bringing the city’s seven-day moving hospitalization average up to 20 and triggering Stage 4 guidelines set by Austin Public Health.

Stage 4 recommends lower-risk individuals to avoid gatherings with more than 10 people. Higher-risk people should limit gatherings with more than two people.
