#AbbottResign trending nationwide Wednesday on Twitter for governor's COVID-19 response

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Users on the social media platform Twitter are calling for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to resign over his response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

So many users are posting the hashtag #AbbottResign that it trended nationally Wednesday morning.

More than 17,000 tweets have been sent with the hashtag as of Wednesday morning, and most of them are saying that Gov. Abbott opened Texas too early as COVID-19 cases spike.

Another hashtag, #AbbottBetrayedTexas, is also being used with #AbbottResign.

I doubt he'd be removed with the corrupt republicans that are presently in office. But, by following trumps orders to open up too soon , and seeing horrific results , the people will have their say in Nov. . It will not be pretty for trump and the Texas Republicans come Nov..
