Thank you for volunteering to serve as a delegate to the 2020 Republican Party of Texas Convention! As we head into our first ever RPT Virtual Convention, we’d like to talk you through some of the logistics for our CD and SD Caucuses. First, this will be an entirely virtual convention, we will not have in-person or hybrid caucus meetings.

That said, John and Hayden will manage our respective caucuses from the CollinGOP headquarters. In addition, we will have technology experts at headquarters to help those with technology or internet challenges. If you need help, you’re welcome to join us but you will need to register ahead of time at this link - CLICK HERE. But please, only come if you absolutely cannot make do on your own. We have very little space in headquarters so please remain home if you can. Also keep in mind that anyone who goes to headquarters will need to wear a mask and bring their own device to participate and vote.

I briefly flirted with the idea of registering and seeing what would happen, but I decided it would be better to keep an eye on the trainwreck from a distance.

I'm curious whether the screw up was mistakenly sending that out to the entire newsletter list or whether my email got substituted in for someone who was supposed to receive that link and didn't.

No surprise, given the Zoom train wreck that was their executive committee meeting.

I can just imagine their virtual convention...

Angry woman in a cowboy hat with a flag bandaid on her chin: How dare you put me on stack! I have something to say RIGHT NOW!

Bubba in a MAGA hat and Come ‘n Take It shirt: is this secure! IS THIS SECURE?!?! Chy-nah is probably recording everything we say! Chy-nah!

Ted Cruz: <eats a booger on video>

Red faced dude in a suit and white Stetson, with a shirt cutting off circulation at his neck: Is this on?!?! We need to adjourn RIGHT NOW and go to Houston. This stupid - IS THIS ON?!?! - thing isn’t working! It’s a librul unconstitutional conspiracy to stop this meeting! Can anyone hear me?!?! We need to go to Houston RIGHT NOW and take the convention center like we were supposed to for this meeting! Are y’all just gonna lay down for them commies? It’s a hoax!

Scratch opening it a day late – it’s gonna be two days now.

After struggling to kick off the virtual gathering Thursday, the party’s executive committee has voted to wait until Saturday to resume business, hoping it can use the time between to smooth things out.

They’ve had two years to plan this sucker, and at least three months to know it was going to have to be a virtual convention. They chose to spend those three months fighting their “freedom” not to wear masks.

Honey, they caused this problem and now they even save themselves.

Do not let them lead this country.

To make matters even worse for themselves, now Allen West, remember that guy?, is running for Texas Republican Party Chairman against the incumbent and will probably win. I could not be happier. Flip Texas blue!
