Gilbert chides Gohmert over federal show of force, will protest Sunday
Hank Gilbert, the Democrat challenging U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert in November, called for his opponent to stand up against the use of federal forces in American cities after President Donald Trump announced he would send more federal officers around the nation.

Gilbert also announced he was sponsoring a protest at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Nacogdoches County Courthouse. The protest follows one earlier in the day in Tyler, his hometown.
Gohmert, a Republican who is also from Tyler, has been a staunch supporter of Trump and his politics.
