The number of patients hospitalized in North Texas because of COVID-19 has risen to force restrictions to again be placed on area businesses.
Under Governors Order 32, also referred to as GA-32, multiple restrictions are in place as of Friday because of COVID-19 hospitalizations in the Trauma Service Area, which includes Parker County as well as counties in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, having been above 15 percent for seven consecutive days.
The restrictions include the halting of all Non-essential medical surgeries and procedures in hospitals, and closures of all Bars or similar establishments that hold a permit from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), and are not restaurants.
Any business establishment that otherwise would have a 75 percent occupancy or operating limit may operate at up to only 50 percent. Such businesses include amusement park operators; bowling alleys, bingo halls and skating rinks; gyms and exercise facilities; movie theaters; museums and libraries; restaurants and retailers.

(128,150 posts)I always asked for a booth because I don't like being seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Considering that the floor of the place is covered with peanut shells, it makes it difficult to know how clean the place really is. The guests aren't seated much closer together than some other places like Red Robin, Bennigan's, TGI Friday's, Ruby Tuesday, or Tilted Kilt restaurants, but I would place all of them at about the same level of risk.
Families do eat together at Texas Roadhouse, but unless someone is prepared to pay $20 per person (including children) I would not consider it as a family place since they do serve alcohol, the decor is usually dark, and there is a lot of background noise so it is difficult to hold a conversation. However, the steak I ate was delicious.

(258,833 posts)That was the selling point of the places that were open, they had tables on a "deck" or somewhere else outside. But this building is in the parking lot of a series of buildings where I used to work. It's so close to the main road, four-way intersection, that I couldn't see how it could be built there. And with a name like "Roadhouse," it sounded like a drinking establishment to me.
There's another restaurant that I always liked, Italian and American food, really good pizza, but you can get practically anything there. But when everything shut down, there was a big sign outside that said everything was available for takeout, including the bar! I often drive by there now and the parking lot is always crowded and having been there I know that the tables are pretty close together so I can't see them accommodating all those patrons by spacing the tables out.
From what I've seen, I don't think enough people are taking this seriously, and this county had been doing pretty well. I can't think of anywhere around here that doesn't require masks, but obviously not while you're eating.
