Great Things in Brenham: Blue Bell nearly doubling size of 'little creamery'

Last edited Sat Jan 5, 2013, 01:13 AM - Edit history (1)

Whatever it might say for the economy, Blue Bell Ice Cream is hot.

Now sold in 20 states, the product is selling so well that Blue Bell Creameries has begun a $14 million expansion of its Brenham plant, said Paul Prazak, manager of plant operations.

It's the first major expansion since the early 1990s at the Brenham facility about 70 miles northwest of Houston, Prazak said.

"Ice cream has held really well during the last several years, and our business has greatly increased," Prazak said.

in groceries here in NM. I know people are passionately devoted to the stuff. I'll get to try it the next time I get constipated. Otherwise, I can't get near it.

You'll understand why we kind of get a kick out of things after you watch it. It's good ice cream so I hope that you enjoy it.

I'll see if we can hook up. I won't be doing the Fun Run though--my limit is about 2.5 miles.

I'll actually be staying at an inn in Hempstead. It was so nice last year, so I am going back to it.

I love the Banana Pudding, too. And Pralines in Cream. And Chocolate Decadence. Mmmmmm the brown rimmed ice cream is spectacular!

along with vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and mint chocolate. There might be another one that I forgot about like peppermint or the berry cobbler flavors. And that doesn't include the fudge bars and some other treats.

I guess that explains why I melt every summer since I am what I eat!
