Officials revisit Woodforest dumpsite as debris reappears
After a Montgomery County judge granted an injunction in December against a local landowner to stop using his property in Woodforest as a dumpsite, officials are again addressing it after learning debris again are piling up.
County Attorney B.D. Griffin his office is partnering with the state to determine what the next step is since the pile appears to be different than the pile the county address last year that was largely made up of trees cleared from other properties around the area.
We are working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to get some more inspections and then determine how we go forward, Griffin said, adding there were some options to get compliance but he declined to give details. Its not a lot of the same material so that is why we need TCEQ to inspect it.
Griffin said Justin Hasara responded to an injunction against him and had removed most of the previous debris, his office recently learned of the new pile including social media posts potentially indicating the new pile was intentional against residents.
