After the freeze and once I got electric and internet back I sent missives to every one of those in elected office.

A paraphrase of my missive to Gregg Abbott:

'It is time to re-think the policies of the last two decades. Our approach to energy, regulation and the national grid has resulted in the deaths of Texans. Let that sink in. Texans have died for the sake of energy producer's profits.

We must rejoin the national grid with any regulation that goes with that. As the founders said, "We must hang together for surely we will all hang separately." Don't leave Texas hanging alone.'

AndyS — When I first learned of Texas' winter storm effects I was very sad for all its victims. When I found out why the grid failed I was very angry with the utility's overseers and especially with governor Abbott. In the dark name of profits, Electric Reliability Council of Texas utterly failed its consumers. And then Abbott tried blaming things on the failure of wind towers.

I mean, my God — a child I read about froze to death overnight. Mr. "Cruise" went to Cancun. Blamed his daughters.

I read about a fellow who helped people out by towing their stuck vehicles. Here's a link to the story:

At any rate I appreciate your missive to the (dis)honorable Greg Abbott. I sure hope he can wake up to the realities of what caused the collapse of the so-called "Reliability Council's" response to the storm. And in time for the next one.
