Former Plainview manager, RDAG employee ordered to pay $40M in restitution

Andrea Kate Phillips, a former office manager at the Reagor-Dykes’ Ford Store in Plainview and former accounting associate at the auto group’s corporate office, was sentenced in Amarillo Federal Court Tuesday for her role in the auto group’s fraud scheme.

According to officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Phillips, 40, was placed on four years probation and was ordered to pay $40,264,297.72 in restitution.

Phillips pleaded guilty to one charge of misprision of a felony in February 2020, the first individual who has been charged with that particular offense through the process thus far. In total, Phillips is the 13th former employee of the Reagor Dykes Auto Group to be sentenced in connection with the multi-million dollar fraud scheme which brought down the company.

According to previous reports, 15 employees have admitted in their roles in the scheme, with 12 handed prison sentences ranging from 24 to 42 months after pleading guilty to counts of conspiracy to commit bank fraud or counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
