(855 posts)Texas has their own sports channel and do not share any of the money made from it. All of their games must be on that channel and no split.

(218 posts)While TX and OK have long had the reputation of being the Big Dogs in the Big 8 and Big 12 conferences, they won't enjoy anywhere near that status in the SEC if they're accepted. The SEC, which seems to be doing just fine without them, doesn't appear to have all that much to gain other than two oversized egos by letting them into their club.

(391 posts)1) This year OU's share of the Big 12 (Minus 2) Conference pie was $34.5 Million.
In the SEC it will be appx $60 Million.
Paraphrasing the "Wild Bunch" - $30 Million Dollars cuts a lot of family ties.
