Local Democrats targeting like-minded Port Arthurans
Jefferson County Democrats are trying to keep the county, which once was a strong Democratic stronghold, from moving further right.
As part of that mission, party members met Tuesday night in Port Arthur to discuss election strategies, upcoming events, new opportunities how to engage with the community.
The meeting began with the distribution of poll worker applications, voter turnout statistics and a call to action for those who are interested in getting involved.
“You’ll be utilized during election time,” County Democratic Party Chair Joseph Trahan assured the audience. “Get call lists, walk lists, learn how you can partner with us and get out the vote in what is arguably the largest sleeping giant in Jefferson County — Port Arthur.”
