Dallas man bought nearly 100 guns to illegally sell to others, DOJ alleges

A federal indictment alleges 31-year-old Demontre Hackworth bought nearly 100 firearms from licensed dealers without having to go through a background check because he had a state “license to carry.” Then, he illegally sold them to other people.

Sold or transferred needs to be registered. Every purchase needs a background check and records kept.

Buy 100 of those, no questions asked, and the bill is $180K.

Who funded this, and why were no questions asked?

Buyer: 20 of them, 50 of those, 30 of them. Wrap them up nice!
Seller: Hey buddy, you equipping an army or something?
Buyer: Yeah!
Seller: OK, no problems! Back your truck up to the rear door and I will get the forklift on the job.

America: At war with itself?

Fully legal, hurting no one, fully trust worthy, may have had a gun safe.

It is for such stories as this that I consider every gun owner to be part of the unique American problem of gun worship.

In the 20 years I had it I bought several guns at gun shows and gun stores. I always had to complete a 4473 and wait for approval. The CHL is an expediter. To obtain the CHL involved an extensive background check - the reason for the expedite approval.
