Related: About this forumGov. Rick Perry heckled in DC as he rules out Medicaid expansion

WASHINGTON Gov. Rick Perry faced hecklers this morning as he made clear that despite mounting pressure, he wont expand Medicaid, even though that could cut the number of uninsured Texans by as much as 1 million.
We are not going to be expanding Medicaid in Texas, he told the Texas State Society, over the shouts of protesters filtering through the windows of the Republican-run Capitol Hill Club. Im not going to send my state on a path that is sure to bankrupt the state.
On the sidewalk, roughly 30 people shouted Rick, Rick, You make me sick! and You will never be president.
Inside, four people who paid $30 for a breakfast of scrambled eggs and chicken fried steak blended in with more than 100 members and guests of the Texas group, popping up to interrupt Perry at regular intervals.

(11,417 posts)1. Forcing hospitals to treat indigent costs his state more
than to give them government paid for Medicaid.
Why is it that every talking point the right uses to defend it's actions is a lie?

(4,695 posts)2. The Hospital District Tax will go up on every county taxpayer to cover the cost of indigent care.
Texans will be paying twice, once through income taxes and again through increased county hospital district taxes. And our income taxes will go to states like New Mexico and be totally lost to this state for the future, because the ACA has NO adjustments later. What a stupid move backward.
RICK PERRY TAKES BETTER CARE OF THE PEOPLE OF OTHER STATES THAN THE PEOPLE OF TEXAS
