This morning, it was reported that three heat-related deaths had occurred in Houston due to power outages caused by Hurricane Beryl. The situation in Harris County is reminiscent of what we saw under Winter Storm Uri. There are still 576,000 homes without power, and were seeing reports of Houstonians sleeping in their cars to escape the heat as the outrage grows. While the temperatures have dropped slightly, they are still in the 90s.
Now, were hearing reports of angry people with guns pulling them on CenterPoint employees.
How is Texas the worlds energy capital, yet its biggest city has hundreds of thousands of people without power for five days?
The math aint mathing.
Where are the leaders of Texas while all of this is going on?

(4,519 posts)that the electrical grid in the Longhorn state has been a shambles for years and nobody with any degree of influence has done squat about it. I feel bad for the victims of this paperless crime. This issue should have been resolved years ago but as usual, big money talks, the electorate walks.
