City of San Antonio to shut down Migrant Resource Center

SAN ANTONIO – The City of San Antonio has announced it will phase out the use of the Migrant Resource Center beginning Monday.

From January 2024 to January 2025, the number of migrants arriving in San Antonio declined by 72%. Last year, the MRC saw 8,264 migrants in January. This year, they saw 2,316.

Over the last week, the daily average of migrants arriving at the center was 12.

Texas National Guard to make immigration arrests under agreement with Trump administration, Abbott says

Texas National Guard soldiers now have the authority to make immigration arrests and help detain and deport undocumented people under an agreement between the state and the Trump administration that requires those duties be done under the supervision and direction of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection official.

Snip

In the past, National Guard troops and active duty military have filled “logistical, back-office, air support and observation” roles to help Border Patrol, said Gil Kerlikowske, former CBP commissioner during the Obama administration. If troops encountered undocumented immigrants, they would typically notify CBP — who would handle apprehensions and processing of migrants.

Now soldiers are being deputized and given arrest powers.

“Given the numbers right now and the numbers that have gone on for these last couple of months, it really seems that CBP is not overwhelmed or overburdened by what’s going on,” he said. "It doesn't sound like there is any operational need for them."

And btw Texas will not be reimbursed for expenses but we are keeping track of expenses in case the gubmint changes their mind.

Welp which is it? The brown hordes overwhelming white Texas (US) or, as usual, immigration goes down during the winter. We have a weather phenomenon called a “Blue Norther.” The sky turns deep blue and the temperature can drop 30 degrees or more in a matter of minutes. Santa Ana’s troops died during a Blue Norther because the peasant foot soldiers were dressed in cotton shirts and pants.

All new states are invested, more or less, by a class of noisy, second-rate men who are always in favor of rash and extreme measures, But Texas was absolutely overrun by such men.

4. Certainly Cornyn would be the better of the two, however a Democrat might have a good chance against Paxton

The best part though is that if Paxton runs he would have to resign as AG because he can't run in two slots at the same time.
He would be out of work if he loses to the Democrat in the general. This is assuming of course that he has survived the primary.
