Goodhair just vetoed the Texas equal pay act http://www.texastribune.org/2013/06/14/senator-perry-vetoed-equal-pay-bill/
Perry also vetoed a bill aimed at preventing pay discrimination against women, a measure that would have required railroad commissioners to resign before seeking another office, legislation that would have taken power and authority away from the University of Texas System Board of Regents, and a bill that would have changed the way Texas handles threatened and endangered species.
When you combine this veto with Goodhair adding abortion issues to the special session, it is clear that the GOP war on women is still in full force and effect

(18,063 posts)It's extremely difficult to get a bill passed in both houses in Texas. The fact that this bill even made it out of the House is amazing. For a republican controlled legislature - this was no easy task. And then to just have it be quashed by that idiot Perry.
I think he was especially aiming towards Senator Wendy Davis who authored and championed the bill.
