As to how long and to what extent the Vermont Game Wardens strayed from a direct line from their official conveyance to the main entry to the home. There could be expectations that they were unaware which was the entry, or saw some thing at a distance while on the shortest route to the main entry, or saw something while trying to find the right door, or were otherwise deviated. But if they began to "wandering out of curiosity" the SCOTUS is correct in warning and there was a violation of rights.
