6:30 AM. I was voter 166! Usually for an off year election there are only about 30 people who got there before me. A big turnout is good news for us.

Other info: Paper ballot, 3 collection scanners, only one being used. 5 volunteers on laptops checking ids and verifying voter rolls. First time I have not seen any big books of names. No observers present. 4 Democratic volunteers handing out sample ballots. As usual, the Repubs just drop off signs and a table, but have no one to man their station.

voter #232 at 7:50 -- in past years, I would have been voter #8 or 9 at 7:00, so I think the voters are really coming out for this one, which is indeed unusual for an off year.

There were 3 or 4 Republicans at their station outside, and one Democrat at his station. In past years, there were many times there was no D table, but there was always an R table.

I voted straight-line, Yellow-Dog Democrat this morning.

My 5+ year transformation from libertarian to Liberal Democrat is complete, I guess...

I've seen it a lot busier though, other elections.

Steady going and no big lines. The parking lot at the school was full when I got there. The down side is I live in the middle of Cantor country. The up side was the number of women that turned out to vote.
