4th District early, absentee voting opens [Virginia]
Early voting for the 4th District special election to replace the late Congressman Donald McEachin is now open through Feb. 18.
Democratic state Sen. Jennifer McClellan is facing Republican Leon Benjamin to serve the rest of McEachin’s term in the U.S. House of Representatives. McEachin had won versus Benjamin in November's general election shortly before his Nov. 28 death.
The special election is set for Feb. 21, per Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s writ of election.
The 4th District includes all or part of Brunswick, Charles City, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Prince George, Surry, Sussex, Chesterfield, Henrico and Southampton counties. It also includes the cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell, Petersburg and Richmond.
