If it's any consolation, Virginia Tech is no longer the site of the worst

mass shooting in the United States.

So, shoutout to the many people with a connection to VT for that.

I'm sorry. I'm having a pretty bad day right now. I got up late and did not have the TV on, so I did not hear about Orlando until late. I have the continuous coverage on NBC now. It's not getting better.

ETA: I did not have the TV on until late.

ETA, II: Deadliest U.S. mass shootings, 1984-2016

I'm adding a link to the odd outlier, the Bath School disaster.

More people were killed there than at Virginia Tech, but the deaths at Bath were due to firebombing.

The Bath School disaster was a series of violent attacks perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe on May 18, 1927, in Bath Township, Michigan, that killed 38 elementary schoolchildren and 6 adults and injured at least 58 other people. Kehoe killed his wife and firebombed his farm, then detonated an explosion in the Bath Consolidated School, before committing suicide by detonating a final device in his truck. It is the deadliest mass murder to take place at a school in United States history.

The worst terror attack on American soil since 9/11 as well.
