Related: About this forumVoted at 6:30 this morning. 35 minute wait, half outside.
Got in line, outside, accepted a sample Democratic ballot, and was chatting with the old guy passing them out when a lady tried to give me and my son a sample GOP ballot.
Me, "No thanks."
Her, "It really isn't fair that you take a Democrat ballot and the not pro-family, Republican ballot."
Me, "I think you'll be really upset by this time tomorrow."
Inside, line moved quickly. Saw 2 quiet poll observers, observing. Observed no problems or difficulties.
nice comeback. if you know how you're voting you have no responsibility to waste your time on their drivel and propaganda.

(1,214 posts)I think I would have not been so polite as you - but what you said was good!
I would have told her to get the **** out of my face!

(18,672 posts)Good for you! Took some nerve on her part. I'd hope you'd know what you wanted by the time you stand in line to vote, but I suppose she thought you would look at that ballot and flip to the dark side.
And they aren't "pro-family". I've watched with my own eyes how they try to rip gay families apart.
