Ken Cuccinelli's Running Mate Compared Planned Parenthood to KKK, Said LGBT Minds Are Perverted

Virginia Republicans picked the man they want to be Attorney General Ken "The Cooch" Cuccinelli's lieutenant governor over the weekend. And the extremely conservative bishop has got quite a history for the state's Democrats to sink their teeth into.

Bishop E.W. Jackson won the nomination Saturday, in what the Richmond Times Dispatch called "a stunning upset."

After his nomination, Politico picked up on comments Jackson made in a YouTube video last fall, comparing Planned Parenthood to the KKK:

Jackson is also not a fan of gay and lesbian people. From an interview with Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality and pastor John Kirkwood, reported on by Right Wing Watch:

"Their minds are perverted, they’re frankly very sick people psychologically, mentally and emotionally and they see everything through the lens of homosexuality. When they talk about love they’re not talking about love, they’re talking about homosexual sex. So they can’t see clearly. Jesus said ‘when the eye is dark the body is full of darkness.’ Let me come back to this whole issue of their using the black community because here again some of the most vicious attacks ever leveled against any black conservative or black Christian for that matter has come out of the homosexual community."

In addition to Jackson, the Virginia GOP this weekend picked state Senator Mark D. Obenshain to run for attorney general. Obenshain supports so-called "personhood" bills and has said emergency contraception is a form of abortion.

The Repubs wouldn't let the voters pick a Governor and LT. Gov. candidate. Instead, they held a convention of party insiders to make the decision. The other Governor candidates dropped out because they knew the fix was in. However, the Lt. Gov's race was wide open with multiple candidates. That makes it all the more absurd that they picked such a loon.
