Virginia Adopts New Workplace Safety Rules

Morning Notes
ARLnow.com Today at 6:30am

Va. Adopts New Workplace Safety Rules — “Today, the Virginia Safety and Health Codes Board acted to protect the Commonwealth’s workers by adopting emergency temporary standards, which set forth enforceable, common-sense requirements that employers must follow to protect their workers during the COVID-19 pandemic… Key requirements, such as those for physical distancing, workplace sanitization, and information sharing, will apply to all workers.” [Commonwealth of Virginia, Legal Aid Justice Center, Twitter]

These first-in-the-nation safety rules will protect Virginia workers by mandating appropriate PPE, sanitation, social distancing, infectious disease preparedness and response plans, record keeping, training, and hazard communications in workplaces. https://governor.virginia.gov/newsroom/all-releases/2020/july/headline-859234-en.html

Don't know why other (blue) states aren't doing the same to protect their folks and bring their economies back SAFELY! So sad that most of the red state governors are totally ok with the working class/poor dying for the profits of the right wing and rich.
