🚨EMERGENCY ALERT 🚨- Virginia age 16 + now eligible for vaccine

Sitting in my office I heard the emergency alert sound. I walked out to find out what it was.

Department of Health announces anyone over 16 can now get a vaccine.

I got an emergency text too.

💉👍😁

So figure about 20% of the population isn't even eligible to be vaxed yet. We need what, 85% for herd immunity to be effective? And we have about 10-15% who are just refusing.

So close, yet......

I want everyone vaccinated that can safely take the vaccine. I understand that some, nursing mothers, people with allergies or those with other medical issues may wait until the CDC clears them may be necessary but I want to see all who can tolerate (fortunately, I have been fully vaccinated, my wife and son have each had their first shot) get the vaccine to protect themselves and others, but the emergency alert was a little much for me.

I am already on edge and when that came in I nearly jumped out of my skin.
